How do you assure my goods are safe in transit?

All of our equipment is designed for the safe handling and security of your possessions, such as side-access vehicles, air-ride suspensions, and specialized crating and palletization of your goods. Plus, Harrison’s maintains control of your goods from start to finish, rather than passing your possessions off to outside carriers or middle-men. At Harrison’s, we pack it…we load it…we deliver it!
What about special items like pianos or grandfather clocks?
Our professionally-trained movers are experts at moving almost any household item imaginable, including pianos, sculptures, fine paintings, valuable furniture, heirlooms, and antiques. What if I have a problem and need to file a claim?

What if I need to store my goods?
If your move will include the need for storage services, we operate a state-of-the-art, storage facility located at our headquarters in Chesapeake, Virginia. Because Harrison’s is a full-service moving and storage company, simply inform your Harrison’s Sales Representative that you need to store your goods. Your representative can make arrangements for your goods to be stored in our safe, secure and climate controlled environment that is always available for you to tour and inspect during our normal business hours. If you need temporary storage for a brief period of time, we can arrange that under your moving contract. Just ask your Harrison’s representative for details.

What kind of moves can Harrison’s do?
We are both a local and a long distance moving company. There are four different types of moves and Harrison’s can handle them all. Moves are categorized as local (in the same city of town); intrastate (moving inside the same state); interstate (moving from one state to another); and international (moving to another country). Just contact us and give us the details of your move and we will provide a free, no obligation quote for your move and take care of all of the details.
What are my payment options with Harrison’s?
Harrison’s accepts credit cards or certified checks as payments for the move. We accept Visa and MasterCard. Credit card payments should be arranged in advance. If paying by certified check, your driver will collect your payment prior to unloading your belongings at the point of destination.
Who does the packing for my move?
That is totally up to you. Some people like to save money by doing their own packing. We have professional packers and movers available for your move should you want them. If your time is valuable to you, Harrison’s is always available to do the packing for you so you can do other things. The choice is up to you. Packing supplies are always available from Harrison’s.
